Time for Reflection on Tuesday

Reflection is good for the soul, and although it looks like Emily is deep into her own thoughts, she is actually tracking some little birds.  She was so quiet, sneaking up the couch, staying very low until they moved so close to the window that she had to peer down on them.  Lucky for them, they were outside the window.

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness.  God is the friend of silence.  See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon, the sun - how they move in silence...We need silence to be able to touch souls.

  1. haha, so cute.

Thank you for your prayers for Kelly. She is taking some steps in physical therapy! That gives us hope and encouragement that she will be ok, it's just going to take time.

Wishing you and Emily a Blessed Thanksgiving.

  2. (I'm so behind in reading my blogs, but just got laid off from my new job--started Oct. 20, so I guess I'll have time now)

I love the photo of Emily and her reflection.

When I taught school in Memphis, I discovered that the students derived some benefit from a few minutes of reflection on Fridays. At first they thought it was "dumb," "boring," or spent the time writing notes and giggling to one another. Then they seemed to get the idea and actually came to enjoy it.

  3. Emily makes me laugh..we use to have a cat like that and he was so funny..the noise he made when he saw a bird and his mouth would quiver..Funny.
Many time I have to pull myself back and sit quiet..because I need the lift from God..What would I do without Him?..must be very sad for people that have nothing to hang on to..
    Have a happy day..xoCarolyn
